VU Gallery exhibiting 'Club Austin' through Monday, Nov. 9

Associated Students Productions Viking Union (VU) Gallery will host the first show of the year with “Club Austin” from Oct. 19-Nov. 9 in the VU Gallery 507.

“Club Austin” will exhibit the artwork of Austin Stiegemeier, a Bachelor of Fine Arts student in the printmaking and painting departments.

“Austin’s work is about self-identity and pop culture: the way in which the two become intertwined as we grow and define ourselves,” said VU Gallery Assistant Coordinator Colleen Barry. “He often depicts himself inside of popular movie scenes such as Fight Club and Saving Private Ryan, and his paintings are large scale, sometimes even taking up two enormous canvases in a diptych.”

The exhibit is free and open to the public from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
