Voting now open for 2013 diversity poster

Voting for next year's diversity poster at Western Washington University is now open!

The Diversity Poster Contest has been a program supported by University Residences since 1997. The 2013 competition represents the 16th time students have participated in the creation of these posters. Previous designs have included "Breaking Boxes, Building Bridges," "Identities are Infinite" and "Peeling Back Identity Labels."

Historically, the poster contest served to offer students an opportunity to visually display how diversity impacts their lives based on a specific theme identified by a student committee. Artists were encouraged to capture the look, feel, and character of diversity. While the structure for how winners are selected has changed with technology, the overall winner's design is published by University Residences and displayed around campus.

Vote for te 2013 diversity poster by going to housing.wwu.edu/reslife/diversity and clicking on "View 2013 Poster Submissions."

Voting closes on Monday, May 13.

The winners will be revealed at the university's Diversity Poster Celebration Ceremony at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 18, in the Viking Union Art Gallery during Back2Bellingham Weekend.
