Vital campus blood drives continuing off campus; next drive set for Nov. 5 and 7

Western has historically been a huge source of vital donated blood used to save lives across the Pacific Northwest, but with so many students and employees away from campus during the pandemic, BloodWorks Northwest has shifted its blood drives to areas surrounding the campus.

The next pop-up donation center and blood drive will be help at the First Presbyterian Church at 1031 N. Garden St. on Thursday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 7, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All donations are by appointment only. The one-hour donation appointment is a safe and essential action to support local hospitals and patients. The pop-up centers are being conducted following social distancing guidelines. No walk-ins, guests, or people under age 16 are permitted onsite. All donors are required to wear masks or face coverings during their appointment. Bloodworks has posted information addressing questions and concerns for blood donors at bloodworksnw.org/coronavirus.
