Visiting artist Heidi Kumao to give free lecture Jan. 28

The Western Washington University Department of Art & Art History will present a free lecture by visiting artist Heidi Kumao at 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 28 in Fraser Hall 101.

The lecture is open to the public, and pay-by-the-hour parking is available in Lot 17G behind the Ross Engineering Building. Parking is free in the lots C/CR and 12A after 4:30 p.m.

Kumao creates video, machine art, and installations to explore ordinary social interactions and their psychological undercurrents. Emerging from the intersection of sculpture, theater, and engineering, her work demonstrates how small gestures, even the most private and poetic, can become political acts.
