Upcoming training to help faculty, staff prevent violence

Incidents of violence have taken place on college campuses in Washington and across the United States recently.

Knowing how to react on campus (in classrooms, etc.) and being aware of behaviors of concern could mean the difference between safety and serious injury.

More than three-quarters (80 percent) of all individuals committing acts of violence on campuses provided some signal ahead of time that they might become violent.

This session will alert attendees to behaviors of concern and teach them what to look for and how to notify Western's Safety Assessment Team.

Please attend the following summer session for Western employees.

Violence Prevention at Western: What Employees Should Know, will take place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, in Communications Facility Room 110. Randy Stegmeier, Western's police chief, will be the presenter.

Space is limited. Please sign up to attend this session on the WWU Training website under Public Safety.
