Two of Western's German students win prestigious fellowships

Liana Lewis, a German major, has been awarded an ETA Fulbright Scholarship for 2012-2013.

Samantha Seabrooks-Sturgis, a Biology and German student,  has been awarded a DAAD (A German Academic Exchange Service) Rise Scholarship (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) to Germany.

The Fulbright Fellowship is a well-known and prestigious award.

The DAAD Rise Scholarship is a very competitive international award from the German Academic Exchange Service, a publicly-funded independent organization of higher education institutions in Germany.

DAAD has created dynamic internship opportunities for science and engineering students from the United States and Canada interested in gaining serious practical experience in Germany.

The RISE and RISE professional internship programs prepare students to meet the growing demand for international experience in business and industry.
