Travel the Columbia River with noted author JoAnn Roe Sept. 16

Author JoAnn Roe will talk about the mighty Columbia River, one of the longest rivers in North America, Sept. 16 at the WWU Retirement Association meeting. Roe will speak about early river steamers on both sides of the border, ponder the travels of salmon and expand attendees' knowledge of the history, towns and people along this great river.

Her presentation takes place at the Squalicum Yacht Club, 2633 South Harbor Loop Road in Bellingham. Socializing begins at 6:30 p.m., with the presentation at 7.

Members whose last name begins with A through L should bring a dessert to share. WWURA provides coffee and tea; some members bring wine. Cost of attendance is $2 per person or $3 per couple.
