The Living Earth Show, Mobius Trio to play at Western Nov. 14

Western Washington University’s Department of Music presents a double bill of contemporary music featuring The Living Earth Show and the Mobius Trio at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the Performing Arts Center Room 16.

The performance is free and open to the public.

Both based out of San Francisco, The Living Earth Show and the Mobius Trio will perform recently composed works, many of them commissioned by the groups themselves.

“I think this will be an inspiring show, not only for our music students, but for anyone interested in the new direction of contemporary music,” said Western Washington University Associate Professor of Music and concert organizer Bruce Hamilton.

The Living Earth Show is an electric guitar and percussion duo that defies genre and explores stylistic hybrids, often playing with electronics. A classical guitar ensemble, Mobius Trio is dedicated to the continued advancement of guitar repertoire. Both ensembles have been touring and gaining wide recognition as part of a new generation of trailblazing groups.

The evening will take place in the recently refurbished PAC Room 16, which now features an upgraded sound and projection system, as well as production drapery to help transform the classroom into a performance space.
