The Great Washington ShakeOut set for Oct. 21; practice your earthquake preparedness

step5wideicon.pngEarthquakes can happen at any time. Bellingham is in a region that has a history of having earthquakes. Most injuries are caused by falling or flying objects during an earthquake.

The Great Washington ShakeOut is Thursday, Oct. 21. Plan to join us by practicing:

Drop where you are, onto your hands and knees

Cover you head and neck with one arm and hand. Then crawl underneath the table or desk for additional shelter. If there is nothing to get under, crawl next to a wall, away from windows.

Hold On to your shelter with one hand. Keep covering your head/neck with your other hand
