TEDXWWU Coming to Western on Saturday, March 4

TEDxWWU is coming to Western from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 4 in the Performing Arts Center. TedxWWU is designed to help organizations, individuals and communities create conversation and connections at a local level.

Nine speakers from the Bellingham area will discuss a wide variety of topics.

  • Joy Wiggins: From Sabotage to Support: Women Liberating Women
  • Paige Rosson: Breaking the Habitual: Restroom Inequality
  • Paul Meeks: Debunking Stock Investment
  • Dalia Monterroso: I Dream of Chickens
  • Rae Lynn Schwartz- DuPre: Curious About Curious George
  • David Nicol: Solar in Alaska - Greening Up Diesel Microgrids
  • Kristin Leong: Roll Call - Exploring the Gaps Seperating Students and Teachers
  • Tracy Psycher: Rethinking Trauma: What Youth From Domestic Violence have to Teach Us

Tickets are on sale for $15 for Western students and will be $25 for the general public. This will include a free lunch provided by the event held in Western’s dining halls. Other activities include games, arts & crafts, music, yoga and an improve session. At the end of the event there will be an ice cream social with ice cream provided by Mallard’s.
