Technology group to discuss social media as a teaching tool Feb. 28

The next Learning Technology Group lunch-hour discussion at Western Washington University will focus on increasing the campus-wide understanding and use of technology as a teaching tool. All Western faculty, staff and interested students are welcome to attend.

In this session, which will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, in Viking Union Room 567, attendees will explore promising methods of engaging students beyond the typical limitations of a face-to-face class period, with examples of using Twitter and Facebook in the classroom and around campus.

Attendees are invited to come "share," "like" or "comment" on this topic.

The Learning Technology Group at Western is an ongoing collaboration of Academic Technology and User Services, working with the Center for Instructional Innovation and Assessment, to engage faculty in implementing and evaluating new technologies for teaching.
