Tech group to investigate tools for promoting personal brand Nov. 10

The campus Learning Technology Group will examine options for helping faculty promote themselves and their work on the web from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in Haggard Hall Room 222.

The discussion will focus on WWU's new WordPress environment, CEDAR (SelectedWorks for Authors), social media and more. For those who cannot attend, video of the session will be streamed live and then archived for later access.

Learn about the value of “personal branding” (i.e., what people find when they Google you) in terms of the following:

  • Connecting with professionals just like you
  • Communicating your expertise to professional peers and current or potential students
  • Accessing experts and answers in your field
  • Building your online portfolio

Representatives from ATUS, the Office of Communications and Marketing, Web Technology Services and Western Libraries will contribute to this informative session. Resources (and a link to both the live and, later, archived video of the session) will be posted on the Learning Tech Group Canvas site.
