Tech group to discuss e-textbooks Feb. 7

Members of the Western Washington University community are welcome to join the "Learning Technology Group" monthly discussion aimed at increasing the campus-wide understanding and use of technology as a teaching tool. All Western faculty, staff, and interested students are welcome to attend.

Are you interested in incorporating e-textbooks into your class materials? Would you like to know more about the possibilities, capabilities, and logistics of e-textbooks? Eric Kean (Math), Thor Hansen (Geology), and Kevin Dixey (ATUS) will discuss their experiences using eText creation software and working with publishers to create eTexts.

During this session, which takes place from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, in Miller Hall Room 56, we will explore these questions and discuss the possibilities and challenges this option in education presents.

The Learning Technology Group at Western is an ongoing collaboration of Academic Technology and User Services and the Center for Instructional Innovation and Assessment to engage faculty in implementing and evaluating new technologies for teaching.
