Students, staff and faculty need to register to attend sustainability conference

The Office of Sustainability at Western Washington University is proud to support the inaugural Washington Higher Education Sustainability Conference taking place Feb. 6 and 7 on the WWU campus.

Though the conference is being held at Western, WWU students, faculty and staff still must register if they want to attend.

The two-day 2014 WAHESC program will explore ways to advance campus sustainability through the sharing of best practices, presentations of cutting edge examples of creative solutions to common challenges, and assist in developing regional collaborative networks.

Among the offerings are a few sessions geared toward greening the campus from a facilities perspective.

When it comes to building a sustainable campus, often the place to find low hanging fruit and opportunities for significant measurable impacts is within the operations wheelhouse. Here, there are a multitude of projects to take on — both big and small, established and innovative. For facilities managers and operational staff, WAHESC offers a slate of sessions to share proven best practices, discover new ways to implement sustainability on your campus and spark ideas for big endeavors.
