Student Technology Fee (STF) Committee seeking campus input on proposals by May 7

Reminder! The Student Technology Fee (STF) Committee asks for student, faculty, and staff comments on the STF Tech Initiatives proposals for the current academic year. Comments are due May 7. 

You may review the 18 proposals, which are posted on the STF website, here. 

Comments from the Western community are a valuable contribution to the STF Committee’s decision-making process. As state funding continues to pose challenges, it is crucial that we make wise decisions in spending this student fee. 

Please send your comments by May 7 to the STF Committee at batemad@wwu.edu. 

For AY 2021, the portion of the Student Tech Fee earmarked for Tech Initiatives projects is approximately $180,000.  

The Student Tech Fee is $33.25 (full-time students) or $16.63 (part-time students) per quarter. The fee was reduced in winter quarter 2021. 

Since the Student Technology Fee began in 1996, the fee has provided students more than  
$17 million in technological resources and equipment to directly enhance their academic experience. For more information, please see the STF website at www.wwu.edu/stf.
