Student Tech Fee proposal abstracts accepted now through Jan. 16

The Student Technology Fee (STF) Committee is accepting Tech Initiatives abstracts for the current academic year. All Western employees and students may apply.

Abstracts from employees are due to the Student Technology Fee Committee Jan. 16.

Tech Initiatives make up 12.43 percent of the Student Technology Fee, or approximately $186,450 in AY 2019. This is approximately $60,000 more than in recent academic years. The Tech Initiatives portion of the fee pays for technology projects—proposed by employees and students—that support the Student Technology Fee mission.

The STF mission is as follows:

The Student Technology Fee provides Western students with adequate and innovative technology experiences by:

  • Broadening/enhancing the quality of the academic experience,
  • Providing additional student access to technology, and
  • Increasing integration of technology into the curriculum.

Please see these two key documents on the STF website at https://www.wwu.edu/stf/tech-initiatives.shtml for more information and to submit your abstract.
