Student Success Initiatives launches First-Generation Graphic Design Contest

The Student Success Initiatives Unit (a unit of Western’s Division of Enrollment and Student Services) is pleased to announce the inaugural First-Generation graphic design contest. The purpose of this contest is to create an identity mark or design that celebrates and supports our first-generation community at Western. First-generation students are defined by Western as students whose parents or guardians have not completed a Bachelor’s (four-year) degree.

The graphic will be displayed in a variety of ways which may include on signage, on clothing, in printed and electronic materials, and via social media and website pages.

Entries will be accepted no later than 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17. The contest winner will receive a $100 Amazon gift card. The winner will be announced on Nov. 8 during Western’s annual First-Generation celebration.

More information about the contest guidelines and access to the entry form can be found online. Questions may be directed to Cameron Wuhr at wuhrc@wwu.edu
