Student leaders sought for Global Health Conference; first meeting is Oct. 29

Dear WWU students,

We are excited to announce that the 15th Annual Western Regional Global Health Conference is going to be held at Western on April 26-28, 2019. The theme this year is ‘Criminalization of the Body’ and our keynote speaker is Festus Kisa, an LGBTQ+ activist from Kenya.

This event is one of the largest student-led conferences held in the nation and we are delighted to invite you to attend the first student leadership meeting on Monday, Oct. 29, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Miller Hall room 138 with snacks provided!

During this meeting we will present the general theme under discussion and the various ways students can engage in the development and organization of this conference. Students will have the opportunity to be a part of a number of leadership teams that have the potential to receive course credit, leadership titles, conference planning experience (e.g. selecting speakers, deciding conversations topics and planning workshop and conference activities)! We hope to see you there! If you are interested in getting involved, but cannot attend the meeting, email wielanm@wwu.edu.

Best,

Maya Wieland
