Steam shutdown to take place Aug. 28 to Sept. 8 on campus

The annual steam shutdown on the Western Washington University campus begins Sunday, Aug. 28, and runs through Thursday, Sept. 8.

During this time, there will be no steam, hot water or heat on campus, except at Carver Gymnasium and the Wade King Student Recreation Center, both of which will have hot water for showers. Fairhaven complex also has a backup electric system that will provide hot water. Zoe's Bookside Bagels, the only campus eatery open during this time, also will have no hot water and won't be serving hot foods during the shutdown.

The shutdown allows for critical maintenance to be performed on WWU’s steam system. For more information, contact Steve Morrow at (360) 650-3215.
