Spanish Matters colloquium set for April 17 to 18 on campus

The Department of Modern and Classical Languages at Western Washington University will play host to the IX Spanish Matters Colloquium April 17 and 18 in Viking Union Room 565.

The Western community is invited to attend presentations by scholars from throughout the Northwest on a variety of topics relating to the Spanish-speaking world.

Carlos Jáuregui of Notre Dame will deliver the keynote address at 5 p.m. April 17. The conference will also feature a screening of the film "Soy andina" followed by a live dance performance by Cynthia Paniagua; that event will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. April 18 in Performing Arts Center Room 16.

All events are free and open to the public.
