Social Media and the Digital Self

Paul Gordon Brown, a scholar who studies the impact of social media, technology and design on college student learning, will give two presentations on "Social Media and the Digital Self" Tuesday, Feb 7.

Brown, named by LinkedIn as a Top Voice for Education in 2016, will lead a session for faculty and staff, "The Social Media Lives of College Students" from noon to 1 p.m. in Artnzen Hall 4.  

His presentation to students, "Defining your Digital Self," will from 7 to 8 p.m. in Miller Hall 138. 

Brown is an independent speaker and consultant who speaks around the world on social media issues in higher ed. His doctoral research at Boston College focused on student social media use and its impact on college student development, identity and self-concept. He has more than 15 years of professional experience in higher education and student affairs and is now the director of curriculum, training and research at Roompact, a higher education technology software company.
