Serve on the Multicultural Achievement Program (MAP) scholarship committee

You are invited to serve on the Multicultural Achievement Program (MAP) scholarship committee!

The WWU Scholarship Center invites members of Western’s faculty and staff to serve on the MAP Scholarship selection committee. The MAP Scholarship for current WWU students is for students with solid academic abilities, strong leadership qualities and a commitment to multicultural issues in school or in their community. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Western’s outstanding students and recognize them for their remarkable achievements and activities related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Scholarship committee members receive online access to a packet including students’ completed scholarship applications and evaluation materials. Committee members are asked to read and evaluate the applications and attend a one-hour virtual committee meeting to discuss the applicants and select a recipient. Meetings will be scheduled during the end May or early June through Microsoft Teams in keeping with each committee member's availability.

Without the thoughtful consideration of committee members, recognizing Western students through scholarship awards would not be possible.

If you are interested in serving as a scholarship committee member, or if you have any questions, please contact Allison Ward in the Scholarship Center at allison.ward@wwu.edu
