Search underway for the new Western Chief of Police/Director of Public Safety

Western is starting the process of selecting its next Chief of Police/Director of Public Safety. Vice President of Business & Financial Affairs Joyce Lopes has formed a search committee and engaged an outside consultant to identify, recruit, and interview candidates over the next few months. The search committee will invite semi-finalists for on-campus interviews in October, and will publicize ways for campus community members to meet candidates and provide feedback.

Michael Sledge, chair of the Chief of Police/Director of Public Safety search committee, is pleased to provide the following information about search activities to date:

The search committee in now reviewing the draft position description and is working with the search firm. Zoom interviews and campus visits will occur in fall quarter.
