Screening, discussion to look at community of romance readers, writers

"Love Between the Covers," a feature-length documentary film about the little-known, surprisingly powerful community of women who read and write romance novels, will be screened at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Western Washington University.

The showing will be followed by a panel discussion with:

  • Karina Cooper, an award-winning author of paranormal romance, science fiction and urban fantasy
  • Sam Kaas, an events coordinator at Village Books
  • Julie Dugger, a senior instructor of English at Western Washington University
  • Jen Lois, a professor of sociology at Western Washington University

The event, which is free and open to the public will take place in Academic Instructional Center West Room 204 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 10. Sponsors are the WWU English Department, the WWU Sociology Department and the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program.
