Scholars Week committee looking for 2015 speaker

The Scholars Week Organizing Committee invites nominations for the 2015 plenary speaker, who gives the talk at the annual banquet.

This year’s call marks a departure from previous Scholars Week practice. Rather than following the traditional rotation of speakers from the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities/fine and performing arts, the committee has designated this year as a “wild card,” and nominations may be from any field.

Whatever the individual’s field, the nominee should be currently engaged in scholarly and/or creative activity. The selection criteria will be those the committee has used in the past:

• timeliness,
• general interest,
• quality of the candidate.
