RSP Workshop: Writing More Effective Proposals

Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) is pleased to serve the campus community by offering workshops designed to help faculty and staff members write more effective proposals to external agencies. The sessions are intended to be interactive and are meant to build a community for those involved in writing proposals.

On Monday, May 14th, we will offer a workshop at noon in Haggard Hall room 112.  Tracey Finch will lead the workshop, and she will cover the ins and outs of budget creation for external agencies, including the National Science Foundation.  She will walk attendees through how to use WWU’s standard budget template, teaching attendees how to create a budget.  Attendees can come prepared to create a budget of their own for a grant that they intend to submit in the future, so feel free to bring sample costs and salaries to the workshop.  It is designed to be beneficial for new PI’s that are just getting started on the grant writing process as well as more experienced PI’s that would like a refresher course on budget creation.

Graduate students and new faculty are encouraged to attend.  If you would like to RSVP for the workshop or would like to be added to an email list for future workshop information, please contact Coco Besson, RSP Grant & Contract Specialist, at coco.besson@wwu.edu.
