WWU's College of Sciences and Technology to Host AAUW Meeting April 16

BELLINGHAM – Western Washington University’s College of Sciences and Technology and the Washington chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) are sponsoring a joint meeting of AAUW members from across the state and WWU students and faculty.

The program will highlight AAUW programs to help women achieve equity in their education, in their professions and in their lives. Another feature will be selected student and faculty research presentations.

The meeting, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, in Academic West Room 210 on the Western campus, will feature information on AAUW programs available to WWU students, including:

Elect Her: Campus Women Win: Closing the political leadership gender gap
$tart $mart: Helping women to negotiate a higher starting salary
Why So Few?: The latest research about women and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)

The cost of the meeting, including lunch, is $3 for students and $10 for faculty, staff, or $40 for the general public. Please pre-register by texting 425-422-2833 or e-mail records@aauw-wa.org.
