The program will be held Thursdays, Jan. 19 through March 2, from 2-4:45 p.m. on Western’s campus.

WWU Youth Program's Early Release Enrichment is scheduled to coincide with early release Thursdays and act as an alternative form of childcare, while providing an introduction to college life for Bellingham School District K-5 students. Students may register for any number of sessions.

Here are the Bellingham program dates and themes:

  • Jan. 19 – Trash to Treasure
  • Jan. 26 – The Shocking Science of Static
  • Feb. 2 – Under the Sea
  • Feb. 9 – Cultural Celebrations: Chinese New Year
  • Feb. 16 – Math-Magicians
  • Feb. 23 – Natural Disasters: Tsunami Edition
  • March 2 – Your Parent’s Genes

Students are asked to bring a rain jacket, healthy snack, water bottle, and a curious mind. The cost to participate is $30 per session. A discount of $5 each session will be taken off for those who register for all seven sessions together.
