WWU Youth Programs to Offer Early Release Enrichment Program This Spring

Western Washington University Youth Programs will offer an Early Release Enrichment program for K-5 students exploring topics in sciences, arts, and culture Thursdays this April and May.

Seven sessions will be held from 1:45-5 p.m. on the following Thursdays: April 14, 21 and 28, and May 5, 12, 19 and 26, on Western’s campus.

An alternative to traditional childcare, Early Release Enrichment provides Bellingham School District K-5 students an opportunity to experience a college campus as they participate in hands-on science and arts activities, and access to specialized labs and tours of Western’s campus.

Programs are as follows:

  • April 14 – Musical Scientists
  • April 21 – Terrific Trees
  • April 28 – Cultures From Around the World
  • May 5 – If You Were a Seed, What Would You Need?
  • May 12 – Gravity Egg-cellence
  • May 19 – Survival Science
  • May 26 – Science in Motion

Registration is now open. Students are asked to bring a water bottle, rain jacket, healthy snack and curious mind.
