WWU Youth Programs to Host Kids Night Out @ Western (KNOW) Oct. 21

Students in grades one to five are invited to enjoy an evening of hands-on science activities at Kids Night Out @ Western (KNOW) on Friday, Oct. 21, 2016.

The event is scheduled from 7-9:45 p.m. and includes an exploration of film effects, followed by an optional hour of pool time.

Students will be divided into two different learning groups: grades 1-3 and grades 4-5.

The cost is $25 for the academic session or $30 for the academic session and swim time. Students should bring a backpack, including a swimsuit and towel, a nutritious snack and a hunger to learn.

KNOW evening schedule:

6:45 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. // Student check-in at the SMATE (Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education) building

7:00 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. // Lessons and activities

8:15 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. // Snack

8:30 p.m. // Academic period check-out at SMATE

8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. // Pool time

9:30 p.m. – 9:45 p.m. // Change into dry clothes

9:45 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. // Student check-out at the Rec Center

Kids Night Out @ Western will also occur on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, and Friday, April 14, 2017.
