WWU Youth Programs to host Grandparents U at SEA Discovery Center

POULSBO -- Western Washington University’s Grandparents U, an intergenerational program that offers a variety of summer courses for grandparents and their grandchildren, will be held at in Poulsbo at the SEA Discovery Center this summer.

Students in grades three through five will partner with their grandparents to explore how nature inspires human invention. Through hands-on activities, participants will take a closer look into marine life, how their adaptions have been emulated by people and the success of those imitations.

Two programs will be held. The first will be from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Aug. 1 and from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 2. The second program will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Aug. 3. The first session costs $239 per grandparent and grandchild pair, while the second session is $160 per pair. Program fees cover lunch as well as all class sessions.

Registration is open and available online at www.wwu.edu/grandparentsu. Western alumni, faculty and staff are eligible for discounts on selected programs.

For over three decades, Western Youth Programs have inspired students to explore their educational and creative passions in a safe, lively college atmosphere.
