WWU Youth Programs to Host GEMS Night Out for Girls Interested in STEM fields

Western Washington University Youth Programs invites students to participate in GEMS (Girls in Engineering, Math and Science) Night Out this winter.

The event will be held from 7-9:45 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10 at Western’s Science Resource Center. Students are welcome to enjoy an hour of swimming at Western’s Wade King Student Recreation Center.

Designed for girls in grades 3-8 to provide a safe and empowering environment to explore STEM fields, GEMS Night Out provides an opportunity for hands-on learning in an inspiring environment.

Students will explore the topic of astronomy through the theme “A Dark and Starry Night” at the event.

To participate in GEMS Night Out, a fee of $30 must be paid per student.
