WWU Youth Programs Seeks Community Partners and Volunteers for GEMS Fair

Western Washington University Youth Programs is currently seeking community partners and volunteers to participate in the second GEMS (Girls in Engineering, Math and Science) Fair from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 14.

The fair is free to participants of all ages.

Designed for all ages, the GEMS Fair provides a safe and empowering environment to explore STEM fields and an opportunity for hands-on learning.

Opportunities for organizations include hosting an interactive activity that will engage students in grades K-12, hosting a table that presents visual examples of your organization’s work in STEM and presenting a 20-minute demo or interactive talk on your career in STEM.

Anyone interested in hosting a table or demonstration should respond with a brief description of what they would like to do. Western is looking to provide a wide range of topics, so please feel free to be creative; e-mail youth@wwu.edu by April 30.
