WWU to Host PACCAR Career Day Nov. 8

BELLINGHAM – Students are invited to participate in the first-ever PACCAR Career Day at Western Washington University on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Several representatives from multiple divisions at PACCAR will be on campus throughout the day, offering opportunities to learn about the company. PACCAR also will bring one of its trucks to campus, to be parked in Red Square.

PACCAR representatives will be tabling in the lobby of the Academic West Instructional Center from 1 to 3 p.m. answering questions about internships, jobs, the divisions of PACCAR and the company’s industry and products. Concurrently in the Academic West Skybridge, PACCAR employees will be hosting open office hours where students may engage in informational interviews, resume reviews or ask other questions about the recruiting and hiring process. From 3 to 4 p.m. in Academic West 210, a presentation will be given on PACCAR’s mission and philosophy and career opportunities at the company.

Students from all majors are strongly encouraged to take this opportunity to connect with the company and its representatives and to take advantage of this unique opportunity on campus. PACCAR is the second largest heavy truck manufacturer in the nation and was a top employer of graduates from the 2014-15 class at WWU. With a factory, research center and parts distribution center in Renton, its Kenworth unit in Kirkland and its state-of-the-art wind tunnel in Skagit County, the company employs roughly 2,500 people in Washington State.

While on campus, PACCAR will be holding a discussion with student leaders over lunch as well as engaging in strategic conversations with faculty and networking at the end of their day.

This event is being brought to campus by the University Advancement Corporate & Foundation Relations Team and Career Services Center.
