WWU to Hold Annual International Opportunities Fair on Jan. 28

Western Washington University’s annual International Opportunities Fair will be held on campus from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28 in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room.

The fair is the largest campus-wide event dedicated to providing information about work, volunteer, study and internship positions abroad.

Fair attendees can meet with representatives from approximately 50 organizations. Some participating organizations include the Peace Corps, Adventure Teaching, Academic Programs International, Semester at Sea, Wildlands Studies and a wide range of internationally-focused programs at Western.

The fair will also feature Western’s Global Learning Faculty-Led Programs.  Students can join Western’s faculty in short-term programs abroad in disciplines such as Environmental Studies, Sustainable Development, Art, English, and Communication Studies. Programs will take place in Japan, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Rwanda, and more.

International Jobs and Internships Workshop

This workshop will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26 in the Viking Union Room 552 on Western’s campus, and will provide general information about international possibilities.

 

How to Navigate the International Opportunities Fair

“How to Navigate the International Opportunities Fair” will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27 in the Viking Union Room 552, and will provide insider hints on how to make the most of the International Opportunities Fair.

 

International Jobs for Educators

Learn about certificated international teaching and TESOL position at 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 25, in Old Main 280K.

 

English Teaching Employer Panel Discussion

Native English speakers who have a four-year degree can teach overseas, and this panel at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28 in VU 552 will help prospective teachers navigate the path to getting an overseas job.
