WWU’s SBDC to Host Effective Financial Management Seminar Dec. 15

Western Washington University’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in partnership with Artino Advisory Group will host a professional development opportunity focused on analyzing and improving local small businesses from 7:30- 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at the Small Business Development Center at 115 Unity Street, Suite 101, in Bellingham. 

The cost is $50 and is open to all Whatcom County businesses.

The seminar will be the second in the SBDC’s Effective Financial Management Series and will be dedicated to identifying the profit margins of businesses and utilizing them to make better financial decisions. Profit margins can be the most important indicator of the health of any business.  At this seminar, attendees will find out how to interpret, impact, and improve profit margins.

Presenters at the seminar will be CJ Seitz, director of the SBDC, and Stephanie Artino, CPA and founder of Artino Advisory Group.  Each brings more than 20 years of experience in executive planning, administration, financial strategy, marketing, accounting, and dealing with the day-to-day demands business owners face. 

The SBDC provides free, confidential advising, technical assistance, and research to business owners and managers in an effort to help businesses thrive throughout Whatcom County.  Artino Advisory Group offers a variety of consulting, tax, and accounting services to small- and medium-sized businesses. While most of their clients are in Whatcom County, they work with clients throughout the Pacific Northwest Region.
