WWU’s College of Business and Economics to Host WECU CEO Jennifer Kutcher Feb. 5

Western Washington University’s College of Business and Economics (CBE) will host WECU CEO and Western alumna Jennifer Kutcher as she presents “Future by Design” from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5 in the Communications Facility 120 as part of CBE’s Strategic Management Executive Speaker Series.

The presentation is free and open to the public.

Kutcher came to Bellingham in 1994 to attend Western where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance. Since 1998 she has worked in various leadership roles at WECU including vice president/chief financial officer, vice president/chief operations officer and executive vice president/chief lending officer and in Aug. 2014 was named president/CEO by WECU’s Board of Directors. Kutcher has also earned the CUES Certified Chief Executive distinction during her tenure at WECU.

Kutcher currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross Northwest Washington Chapter and previously served on the United Way of Whatcom County Board of Directors. She also volunteers as a virtual mentor and a guest presenter for WWU’s CBE courses and through WECU’s Sweat Equity Team volunteers to support local non-profit organizations throughout Whatcom County.

The WWU College of Business and Economics Strategic Management Executive Strategy Speaker Series program brings senior business leaders to campus to interact with students and share their perspectives on strategic management, leadership, and professional development.  The Speaker Series is presented by the CBE’s Center for Innovation in Education.
