Western's Odyssey of Science and Arts Returns This Summer for Youth in Grades 4-9

BELLINGHAM – Western Washington University’s Odyssey of Science & Arts, a unique academic experience in a university setting, returns this July and August to provide learning opportunities outside of the regular classroom where discoveries are almost endless for students entering grades 4-9.

Odyssey of Science & Arts gives youth the opportunity to explore popular topics using Western's state-of-the-art labs and classrooms. Courses are taught by Western faculty and are available as weeklong half-day or full-day formats. Students will participate in a wide range of exciting, interactive hands-on activities that foster a success-filled and fun learning environment.

Elementary school students (entering grades 4-6) have more than 15 programs to choose from, including:

• Physical Science – Mission Impossible: To the Moon and Back!
• Forensics – CSI: Bellingham
• Art - From Doodling to Cartooning

Middle school students (entering grades 7-9) have more than 18 programs to choose from, including:

• CAD -  Rhinoceros 3-D Modeling
• Media - Girls Make Film: Filmmaking
• Science -Wild Interactions and Energy

Odyssey of Science & Arts provides an opportunity for students to discover new knowledge, while enjoying the fun learning environment and camaraderie that comes from engaging with like-minded students.

Weeklong program options are July 15-19, July 22-26 and July 29-Aug. 2. Register now to reserve your child’s space in this program.
