Western Washington University Youth Programs will offer an early release program for students in grades K-5 this spring.

The program will be held Thursdays, Apr. 13 through May 25, from 2-4:45 p.m. on Western’s Bellingham campus.

WWU Youth Program's Early Release Enrichment is scheduled to coincide with early release Thursdays and act as an alternative form of childcare, while providing an introduction to college life for Bellingham School District K-5 students. Students may register for any number of sessions.

Here are the Bellingham program dates and themes:

  • April 13 – Ancient Egypt
  • April 20 – Creating Comets
  • April 27 – CSI: Early Release
  • May 4 – Natural Disasters: Volcanoes
  • May 11 – Science of Play
  • May 18 – Forest Friends
  • May 25 – Cultural Celebrations: Africa Day

Students are asked to bring a rain jacket, healthy snack, water bottle and a curious mind. The cost to participate is $30 per session. A discount of $5 each session will be taken off for those who register for all seven sessions together.
