Western To Host Talk Exploring Hip-Hop and Democracy in Senegal Oct. 2

Western Washington University will host a talk entitled “Hip-Hop and Democracy in Senegal” at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2 in Arntzen Hall 415 on the Western campus.  

The presentation is free and open to the public.

The event features Senegalese artists and political activists Thiat and Denise Sow of Keur Gui and Y’en a Marre as they visit Western to discuss rap music and political mobilization in Senegal.

Sponsors include the President’s Diversity Fund, the Center for International Students and the Departments of History, Liberal Studies and Political Science.
