Western on the Peninsulas to Offer Community Courses in Effective Employee Management this Month

Western Washington University on the Peninsulas will offer two employee management classes in its new Continuing Education Program in April.

Held on the Olympic College Poulsbo campus, the professional development courses are open to the public and will provide knowledge for use in employment and business.

“Performance Management: How to Help Your Employees and Your Business be Successful” provides participants with tools for motivating employees, methods for effective communication and tips on setting expectations. The class meets from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, April 17 in Olympic College Poulsbo Room 220.

“Multiple Generations in the Workplace: Working Together Effectively” is for participants interested in understanding and identifying the communication needs for working with various generations, as well as strategies for effective management and inspiring productive performance. The class meets from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, April 24 in Olympic College Poulsbo Room 220.

Both non-credit courses are taught by human resource expert Paula Willems and provide useful information on managing employee performance and handling generational differences in the workplace. Business owners, managers, supervisors and human resource professionals are encouraged to register.

In partnership with Olympic College, Western on the Peninsulas offers four-year degrees, free educational lectures, local literature book groups and Continuing Education courses.
