Tech Panel Highlights WWU’s Western Leadership Forum in Seattle May 29

A panel of tech experts including Microsoft’s Julie Larson-Green (’86) will be the keynote speakers at the 18th Annual Western Washington University Leadership Forum on Friday, May 29 at the Marriott Waterfront Ballroom in downtown Seattle.

Doors will open for the luncheon event at 11:30 a.m. Lunch is served at noon, with the keynote panel discussion, “The New Workplace – Big Data, Analytics, and Millenials” beginning at 12:45 p.m.

The panel will be moderated by King 5’s Joyce Taylor (’84) and includes Larson-Green, chief experience officer for Microsoft’s Applications and Services Group; Leslie Feinzag, vice president of Julep Beauty Inc.; Kieran Snyder, co-founder and CEO of textio; and Barry Steinglass, vice president of Client Software for Hulu. The conversation will revolve around how these tech leaders are adapting their businesses to today’s rapidly changing marketplace.

 Sponsorships begin at the $1,500 table level, which provides $500 for student scholarships. The $3,000 scholarship level provides $2,000 for a named scholarship, and the $5,000 premier level provides $4,000 for two named scholarships. Each table seats 10, with the sponsor filling nine seats and Western places a representative at the tenth seat. Individual tickets are $150 per person.

Free parking, based on availability, is available at the Bell St. Pier Garage, from its entrance at 2323 Elliott Ave.; validations vouchers will be available from the check-in staff at the event. Free rides to the forum with pickups downtown are also available through Uber; details will be sent to attendees after the registration/RSVP process has been completed.

The WWU Foundation hosts the Leadership Forum each year, featuring a noted business leader as keynote speaker.  This event brings together corporate and civic leaders, alumni, and parents and friends who are interested in the University and business trends, with all proceeds going towards WWU student scholarships.
