Sherri Daymon re-joins Western Washington University’s Small Business Development Center

Sherri Daymon has re-joined the staff of Certified Business Advisors at Western Washington University’s Small Business Development Center.

Daymon first served as a Certified Business Advisor with WWU’s SBDC from December 2003 until February 2007. In her first tenure, she was a member of the SBDC Million Dollar Club for personally aiding clients in acquiring over $3.2M in capital investment to start or expand businesses here in Whatcom County. Additionally, in 2006, she was the recipient of the Ferndale Mayoral Proclamation for invaluable consulting services to Ferndale businesses.  Daymon’s entire professional career has focused on supporting the development and sustainability of Whatcom Country businesses.

For nearly a decade, Daymon worked at Bellingham Technical College, where she was responsible for budgetary development and control, management reporting, and providing financial and operational data analysis for institutional decision-making. While at BTC, Daymon also worked in Institutional Research, where she was appointed Data Team Leader for Federal Achieving the Dream grant, supervising a committee of 18 in conducting statistical, longitudinal studies regarding student access and success.

At Bellingham Technical College, Daymon worked closely with faculty to develop operational budgets and secure funding for instructional equipment to sustain and grow their programs. These efforts contributed to an educated and prepared workforce in industries such as industrial technology, culinary arts, aerospace, engineering and advance manufacturing, fisheries, health, business and computers, and transportation and mechanical technology.

Daymon has a history of advising and coaching, to support others in their professional pursuits. She has acute financial planning and monitoring skills to aid in exceptional management of resources. And with keen spreadsheet and data manipulation experience, she is able to assist clients with in-depth statistical, trend, and variance analysis of their business finances and operations. With a passion for planning, thinking through “what-if” scenarios, bridging strategic alliances, and developing the strengths in others, Ms. Daymon happily returns to the WSBDC family with a broader appreciation and expanded professional network in a number of business sectors.

The WWU SBDC is part of the most comprehensive small business assistance network in the United States and its territories made up of over 1,000 SBDC programs.
