New Partnership Between DigitalCrafts and WWU Offers Skills-Based Coding Bootcamp; Scholarships Available for Women and WWU Community

DigitalCrafts and Western Washington University (WWU) partnership allows students to learn real-world coding skills in a new 16-week Immersive (full-time) or a 26-week Flex (part-time) full-stack web development course. The Immersive classes will be held online every day for 16 weeks and the Flex classes will be held nights and weekends.

“As individuals seek to advance their skills to provide further opportunity in a technology-driven economy, high-quality and affordable place-based education remains essential to impacting lives,” said Robert Squires, Vice Provost, Outreach and Continuing Education. “This latest partnership with DigitalCrafts allows Western to further support its mission of advancing inclusive opportunities for diverse learners as well as impacting the workforce needs of the State without requiring to students to go back for a two-year degree program.”

The training kicks off June 29 with an online Immersive course, followed by an in-person Flex course on Sept. 29. Both classes are open to the university community and the public.

Partial scholarships are available for current WWU students, alumni, staff and faculty. DigitalCrafts also offers automatic scholarships for women who enroll.

The course is ideal for those with four-year degrees, computer-based or not, and others seeking highly coveted technical skills such as JavaScript, React and Node.js. It also acts as supplemental training for those with some work experience or a technical degree.

“We’re excited to launch our program in partnership with WWU’s Outreach and Continuing Education” said Jake Hadden, co-founder and CEO of DigitalCrafts. “The technology field is a rapidly growing one, and our bootcamps will help students in the Seattle area quickly get up to speed in learning the skills today’s employers demand.”

Students will complete several days of career prep, ensuring each student is well equipped to enter the job market with a professional resume and portfolio. In addition to gaining access to DigitalCrafts’ Employer Network, graduates will also gain access to WWU’s internal job board to support them during the job search.

Admission to Western Washington University is not required to enroll in certificates and courses offered through Outreach and Continuing Education. See course details for specific course requirements.
