Art Department to Host 'Suitcase' Art Exhibit Through April 8

Landon MackenzieThe Western Washington University Department of Art will present a cross-border art exchange, “Suitcase,” with Emily Carr University of Art + Design at 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from March 30 through April 8 in the Fine Arts Building’s B Gallery.

“Suitcase” features a lecture by visiting artist Landon Mackenzie of Emily Carr University of Art + Design at 4 p.m. Monday, April 4 located in the Fine Arts Building room 238. Mackenzie is an acclaimed Canadian artist whose paintings are held by many prestigious collections including the National Gallery of Canada, Vancouver Art Gallery, Art Gallery of Ontario and Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

Her works on paper and large format canvases have been shown in more than 90 exhibitions in Canada and internationally.

There will be a reception in the B Gallery from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. following the lecture, which are both free and open to the public. Pay-by-the-hour parking for the lecture is available in lot 6V and pay-by-the-hour parking for the reception is in lot 17G behind the Fine Arts Building.
