Red Eye Special means cheap coffee, breakfast cookies after 5 p.m.

University Dining Services at Western Washington University is showing its appreciation and support for hard-working students, faculty and staff with the Red Eye Special, on now in on-campus markets and cafes.

During the special, customers can get 12-ounce drip coffee or hot tea after 5 p.m. for just 50 cents at all locations that brew Starbucks or Tony's Coffee.

This quarter, Dining Services has partnered with Erin Baker's Wholesome Baked Goods to offer a 12-ounce drip coffee with a Baker's Breakfast Cookie for just $1 (after 5 p.m.).

The Red Eye Special can be found at The Atrium, Miller Market, VU Market, VU Cafe, Zoe's Bookside Bagels, Rock's Edge Cafe, The Haven and The Underground Coffeehouse. The idea is to give valued customers a chance to refuel for those inevitable long days and late nights that accompany the last two weeks of the quarter.

In addition to the coffee and cookie deal, certain locations will be open extended hours. The Atrium (in Arntzen Hall) will be open until midnight Wednesday and Thursday of dead week and again Sunday through Tuesday of finals week. Zoe's Bookside Bagels will have special hours (11 a.m. to 11 p.m.) on Saturday and Sunday of dead week. The Viking Union Cafe will be open until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Saturday of dead week, as well as Sunday through Tuesday of finals week.
