Reception for visiting Peruvian students this Friday

Please join the Huxley College of the Environment and Western's Mountain Environments Research Institute for a reception next Friday to welcome 10 Peruvian students visiting WWU for the winter quarter. These students are studying ecosystem management and biodiversity conservation and come from WWU partner Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina. They are able to visit Western thanks to generous grants from the Peruvian government and the US State Department’s 100,000 Strong in the Americas fund. UNALM students have worked with WWU students frequently in Peru in the past, but this is our first opportunity to bring a cohort to this country.

The reception will be Friday, Jan. 11 from 3:30-5 p.m. at the Academic West Skybridge.

Provost Brent Carbajal and Dean Steve Hollenhorst will offer a short welcome to the students and there will be pizza and light refreshments as well.
