'Positive' looks at community members affected by HIV/AIDS

Kuntz and Company, under the artistic direction of Pam Kuntz, presents "Positive," a dance/theatre piece that explores the lives of five different local community members whose lives have been affected by HIV/AIDS.

Kuntz is a senior instructor in the WWU Dance Program.

As is typical in Kuntz’s work, the performances combine the talents of professional performers with the actual community members whose stories are being told. The evening includes the perspective of individuals living with HIV as well as family members who watched a loved one succumb to AIDS while surviving the social, economic and personal struggles that are a part of the disease.

"Positive" features Bellingham artists Ian Bivins, Sheila Goodwin, Stephen Harvey, Annie Hewlett, Angela Kiser, Pam Kuntz, Ella Mahler, Sarah Schermer and Jessica Young and New York City artist Gregory G. Schott.

Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Feb 6 to 9 and Feb. 13 to 16 at the Firehouse Performing Arts Center at 1314 Harris Ave. in Fairhaven.

Tickets are available at the door and at Village Books by calling 360-671-2626. Prices are $15 for general admission and $12 for students and seniors.
