Policies on billing and receiving, access to university facilities approved

Two policies have been approved as of Sept. 1, 2015, and are now in effect at Western Washington University:

The Billing and Receiving for Tuition, Fees, Goods and Services policy is a revised policy that condenses 14 pre-existing policies into one. It was approved by President’s Cabinet on September 1, 2015. The policy still requires all departments that wish to bill customers and/or accept payments directly for goods and/or services receive prior approval from Treasury Services. Once approved, the responsible financial manager must ensure an internal controls assessment is completed. The majority of the requirements found in the 14 pre-existing policies are now in this assessment. All departments who bill and/or accept payments prior to the effective date of the revised policy will be reviewed for continued approval. Questions on the revised policy can be directed to Becky Kellow in Treasury Services.

The Managing Access to University Facilities policy is a new policy approved by President’s Cabinet on September 1, 2015. The purpose of the policy is to establish a comprehensive approach to access management that ensures the safety and security of lives and property at Western.
