Philosopher to present lectures on atheism May 10 and 11 at WWU

J.L. Schellenberg, well-known in academic philosophy for his powerful defense of atheism, will speak Thursday, May 10, and Friday, May 11, on the Western Washington University campus.

He'll present "Horrors and Hiddenness: A Path to Atheism" at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 10, in Arntzen Hall Room 100. At 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Friday, May 11, he'll present "After Atheism: Discovering Evolutionary Religion."

Schellenberg received his Ph.D from Oxford University and now teaches at Mount Saint Vincent University in Nova Scotia, Canada. He is the author of several critically acclaimed books, including "Divine Hiddenness and Human Reason," "The Wisdom to Doubt: A Justification of Religious Skepticism" and "Evolutionary Religion: Darwin’s Unseen Legacy."

People of all religious orientations are invited to attend and to participate in the question-and-answer sessions after each lecture.
